Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (“EMDR”) is a specialized therapeutic approach that helps individuals heal from the effects of trauma, distressing experiences, and emotional challenges.
In EMDR therapy, a therapist guides the client through a series of specific eye movements, sounds, or taps while they recall aspects of a distressing memory. This process helps rewire how the brain stores and processes emotional experiences, reducing their emotional charge and allowing the individual to integrate the memory in a healthier way.
